This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide services and advice to clients requiring hand, foot and nail care. It requires the ability to recognise relevant contraindications and conditions, to understand the structure and function of hands, feet and nails and the effects of treatments and products, and to select and provide services and advice to meet the objectives of the client.
As this is an accredited unit of competency, it allows individuals to perform work from skills learnt or gain credits in any other SHB Beauty Package qualification. Certificate III in Beauty Services and Diploma of Beauty Services. On completion of the Certificate III in Beauty Services work is typically conducted in beauty, waxing, brow and nail salons.

Students are expected to attend all classes for modules/competencies in which they are enrolled. Study may be required at home to ensure currency of theory work.
Students must complete a short course pre training review to gain entry into this course. It is also expected that students have great communication skills, have the ability to understand and interpret information spoken in the English language.
