Course in Introduction to the National Disability Insurance Scheme(NDIS) is offered to new and existing workers in the disability, community services, and early year's sector.The course is targeted at entrants who are new to working as a direct support worker (DSW) and existing workers new to the NDIS and an introductory understanding of working with an NDIS participant.
Potential learners need to be good listeners, communicators, supportive, encouraging and patient.Interested in supporting an NDIS participant in a range of settings. Able to be employed as a DSW; that is, they need to be able to successfully meet the required checks & screenings.
This course pathways to further qualifications, it is not intended as a replacement for full certificate level qualifications. Further study may include; Disability, Community Services or Early Childhood Education and care.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of course commencement. New entrants into the disability sector interested in working as a DWS. DWS workers recently employed in the disability sector. Existing workers new to the NDIS.
