Overview

The 22510VIC Course in Identifying and Responding to Family Violence Risk provides an accredited training program and vocational outcomes for a person in universal services role to identify the presenting risk of family violence for universal service users and provide a response appropriate to the role of universal service professionals. Participants undertaking the course will be professionals who do not have family violence as a core function of their role. These professionals may encounter victim survivors (including children and young people) and perpetrators through their interactions with children, families and/or adults within their work at universal service organisations such as schools, early childhood, justice, community and health services, sport and recreation organisations and faith-based institutions. This course also provides the foundational understanding of family violence and risk needed for further levels of specialisation.

Course Delivery

3 day short course for existing professionals, classroom based/workshop delivery.

Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
