This course is suitable if you are engaged in customer interactions and are employed in either a paid or voluntary capacity in the retail sector including outdoor markets, supermarkets, retail outlets, trades, and service industries. Develop the skills and knowledge to decrease the risk of transmission of infection while undertaking your daily work duties. Skills and knowledge you will gain include effective hand hygiene and surface cleaning; use of personal protective equipment; disposal of contaminated waste; hazard identification and reporting including the appropriate response to incidents, as well as learning more about infection and transmission modes.

This course is delivered as a fully online E-learning course. Participants will work through online training modules then complete assessments comprising online tasks and a practical workplace component.
Participants must be either employed or volunteering, in a customer-facing role in the retail sector. Participants will require access to the workplace to demonstrate practical components. Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
