Overview

This qualification reflects the roles of experienced practitioners delivering training and assessment services usually within Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. They may have a role in leading other trainers and assessors and in providing mentoring or advice to new trainers or assessors as well as designing approaches to learning and assessment strategies across a significant area within the RTO.

Career opportunities that this qualification may provide, include: Lead Teacher, Head of Study, Education Manager and a Training and Development Co-ordinator

Pathways

Further studies from the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training may include the Diploma of Training Design and Development or higher education pathway in adult education.

Course Delivery

Classes are held one day per month with tutorials and assessments support classes held every other fortnight.

Entry Requirements

Although there are no entry requirements into the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, it is a recommendation that students have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and experience working in the VET sector as well as, have a workplace to support the practicum requirements.
