The Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade gives you the training you need to start your career as a qualified engineering tradesperson. You will develop your skills in metal fabrication, forging, founding, structural steel erection, electroplating, metal spinning, metal polishing, sheet metal work, welding and the use of related computer controlled equipment as well as worksite OH&S and communication.
Employment outcomes can be found in a wide variety of manufacturing and engineering related sectors as well as Engineering Tradesperson - Fabrication roles in other industries. Occupational titles may include metal fabrication tradesperson, boilermaker, 1st class sheet metal worker, 1st class welder, moulder, foundry tradesperson and patternmaker.
Certificate IV in Engineering
Apprentices are signed up for 4 years however this package is competency based meaning some apprentices may complete in less time. Practical tasks will be carried out in the workshop, practical tasks may be assessed on-site where appropriate for some units. The program will be delivered over a period of 208 weeks.
Students undertaking this course must be employed as an apprentice fabricator signed up with an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Provider. Each student will undertake a Pre-Training Review before enrolling to help confirm the proposed course is suitable. It will provide valuable information about an individual's existing skills and knowledge, language, literacy and numeracy skills and whether the course will help in achieving learning and/or employment goals.
